November 16 Announcements

New Office Hours

New Office Hours:  The office hours will be changing starting Monday, November 17th.  The new hours will be Monday thru Thursday, 10am to 3 pm.  Please, if you have announcements for the bulletin, you need to get them in by 3pm on Wednesdays!

Needed:  Worship and a Music Leader/Pianist or Singing Group   This Advent and Christmas Season, St. Luke's is responsible for the Protestant worship at the Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center across from EIRMC.  The worship service is at 3:15 p.m. on Sundays.  This is a wonderful opportunity to bring hope and love to others this Christmas Season with the gift of your time.  Contact Mary Leberknight at 529-9357 or e-mail: jmlt@srv.net for the Sunday you want to come.

You're Turkeyriffic!  Thanks to all of you, the Turkey Boxes are going great!  We have a few more boxes to fill and we will gladly accept checks for donations.  Please put "Turkey Boxes" in the memo portion of your check.  Just a reminder:  All Turkey Boxes MUST BE BACK Monday Nov. 24th !!!   Call Kelli Marshall at 523-7846.for more information.

MISSION will be the topic of Adult (and Teen) Sunday Education at 9 a.m. on November 16, 23, 30, and December 7.  Buddy Hall will lead the discussion.  This class will be especially appropriate for members and families of our teams going to Kenya and Texas in 2009, as well as all parishioners who support our mission work.

MISSION TEXAS 2009 (Hurricane Ike repair) is scheduled for June 21-26.  Seventeen people from St. Luke's have already signed up.  The camp is filling up FAST, so talk to Buddy Hall ASAP if you want to go.  This is a Jr./Sr. high trip for youth age 12 and up, plus adults.  A $50 (non-refundable) deposit is needed to reserve your place.  Buddy's number is 528-6207.

Community Thanksgiving Service   Regional Council for Christian Ministry is sponsoring a Community Thanksgiving service November 26th at 7:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm St.  All offerings received during the service will be divided between the Food Bank and the Soup Kitchen. 

Festival of Trees   The coordinators have asked if we would like to participate by donating baked goods and treats on Wednesday the 19th.  Please sign up on the list on the bulletin board outside the office. 

Let's keep the Coffee Hour treats coming!  Need suggestions?  Always welcome are "home-baked" or "store-bought" goodies that can be frozen if necessary, bagged cookies, nuts and fruit, fresh or dried.  Please label your contribution "Coffee Hour" and leave it in the kitchen.  Thank you!

Community Thanksgiving Dinner   St. Luke's has been asked to provide 5 pies to be delivered to the Elks Lodge on Nov. 26 after 1 pm or on Thanksgiving morning before 10 am.  Please no cream pies.  Call the office and let us know if you can take a pie.
